The complex landscape of Dusky Sound is only accessible by boat, making it a truly remote spectacle. Almost 5 miles across at its widest point and 25 miles long, this relatively untouched fjord is one of the most picturesque in New Zealand. It was originally named Dusky Bay by Captain Cook and soon became a popular harbour for merchant ships.
